The Notice of Appeal by Derrick Ward is attached hereto as Exhibit "B". SO ORDERED, Novem- ber 3, 2015. WHEREAS, the Town of Woodville has before it consideration of the Ap- peal of Derrick Ward from the denial by the Woodville Historic Preservation Com- mission and the Woodville Planning & Preservation Commission. dated Septem- ber 8. 2015. of his Applica- tion to Construct an In Fill Building between the Old Drugstore Building and the Barber Shop Building on the Lot that Occupies the Corner of Boston Row and Bank Street and to Oper- ate Therein a Kitchen with Walk Up Window Service to Bank Street. THAT a presentation was received from Mr. Ward di- rectly through questioning by his attorney Michael Winfield and they present- ed the following documents to the Board, attached here- to as Exhibit "A"; and THAT the Woodville His- toric Preservation Com- mission and the Woodville Planning & Preservation Commission through its chairman, James Derbes, presented, to the Board the position of the Woodville Planning & Preservation Commission. Zoning Ad- ministrator Rusty Lewis IT IS THEREFORE OR- DERED, upon motion of Alderman Fry, seconded by Alderman Carter, that this Special Meeting be recessed until December 1, 2015, at which time a vote will be taken, so that the Board can give additional consid- eration to the matter. Gary D'Aquilla, Mayor ATTEST: Cathy McCurley, Clerk 12/10/15 REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 3, 2015 ORDER STATE OF MISSISSIPPI TOWN OF WOODVILLE ORDER WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen and the Mayor of the Town of Woodville met in their Regular Meeting at 5:00 o'clock P.M., Tuesday, November 3, 2015, which meeting was held at the Municipal Building at 131 Courthouse Street, Wood- ville, Mississippi 39669; and, WHEREAS, there were present at said meeting Mayor Gary D'Aquilla, Al- derman Gene Lofton, Alder- man Russell Fry, Alderman Earl Dean Anthony and Alderman William Carter; and, WHEREAS, said meeting was opened with prayer; and, WHEREAS, the minutes of the October 6, 2015, Reg- ular Meeting were present- ed for approval; and, IT IS THEREFORE OR- DERED, on motion of Al- derman Carter, seconded by Alderman Lofton and approved unanimously, that the minutes of the October 6, 2015 Regular Meeting be approved. SO ORDERED, Novem- ber 3, 2015. i ; on behalf of the Water De- partment, Donald Carter for Street Dept., Sammy Cotton for Cemetery, No- lan Thompson for Utility Dept., Jim Derbes for His- toric Preservation/Planning Committee and Fire Chief Mary Frederick. WHEREAS, following the recommendations of the Su- perintendents, on motion of Alderman Carter, seconded by Alderman Lofton, and passed unanimously, the following reports were is- sued by the various depart- ment heads and approved, to-wit: 1. Police Department: Chief Jessie Stewart ap- peared on behalf of the po- lice department. Old fine collections for the month of October were presented. 2. Water: Superintendent Longs reviewed the monthly re- port with the Board of Al- dermen. No action required 3. Utilities: Superintendent Nolan Thompson appeared before the board but no action was required. 4. Streets/Sewer: Superintendent Carter appeared before the board but no action was required. 5. Fire Department: No report. 6. Cemetery: No report 7. Historic Preservation/ Planning Committee: Mr. Jim Derbes appeared before the board. SO ORDERED, Novem- ber 3, 2015. WHEREAS, various bills were presented to the Board of Aldermen at its November 3, 2015, Regular Meeting to be approved for payment; and, WHEREAS, the bills pre- sented were reviewed by the Board of Aldermen. WHEREAS, Alderman Lofton made a motion to pay the docket as present- ed. This motion was second- ed by Alderman Carter and / . ~ l~ssed unanimously. ~ [~i~? IS~THEREFORE OR- DERED, that all of the bills presented to the Board at its November 3, 2015, Reg- ular Meeting, being Claim Nos. 34615 through 34766 be paid as funds become available. SO ORDERED, Novem- ber 3, 2015. WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen desires that both its own members and all town officers and employees be kept apprised of impor- tant developments related to their work; and, WHEREAS, there are various meetings and train- ing sessions which the Mayor, Board of Aldermen and other town officers and employees should attend for the benefit of the Town. IT IS THEREFORE OR- DERED, on motion of Al- derman Carter, seconded by Alderman Fry and passed unanimously, that the fol- lowing be authorized to travel to attend various meetings and programs as follows: NAME= MEETING. DATE: Mayor and Board, Mid Winter Conference, Jack- son, MS, January 12-14, 2016; Cathy McCurley, Winter Clerk Conference, Jackson, MS, December 16-18, 2015; Mary Frederick, 2016 Fire Chief Conference, Ridge- land, MS, January 19-21, 2016. SO ORDERED, Novem- ber 3, 2015. WHEREAS, appearing before the Board is Mr. W.D. Spillman with a re- quest of the Board that he be allowed to build a fence and do dirt work along the North side of Evergreen Cemetery, as depicted in his correspondence dated November 3, 2015, and at- tached hereto as Exhibit "A" and, WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen have considered the request and questioned Mr. Spillman. IT IS THEREFORE OR- DERED, on Motion of Al- derman Anthony, second by Alderman Carter and approved unanimously that W. D. Spillman is hereby allowed to place a fence as requested in the correspon- dence dated November 3, 2015 and attached hereto as Exhibit SO ORDERED, Novem- ber 3, 2015. (Continued on Page 8B)
