The garden continues to place the importance of five fi-uits and vegetables a day to keep obesity away. Harvest was very good this year with mustard greens, cab- bages, radishes, cucmnbers and the largest sweet potatoes in the county. Against all odds the com- munity garden has survived with the aid of Bell and the newest director, Dafita Smith. Smith along with the other teachers contributed to the success of the garden last year, having the students do starter crops in paper cups in the dassrms. Together with Bell, Vergie Trask, Winnie Henyard and Smith, the stu- dents were allowed to plant and grow healthy vegetables from the cup to the planting txxls. '?lease come and join us to keep the garden alive," said Bell. Donations and volunteers welcome.
