Lewis -- | New Hospital Nearing Comple00mn, Thursday, February 26, 2015 Number 43 Deadline To Qualify As A Candidate Friday At 5 RM, The deadline to run for public office in the 2015 Mississippi Primary Elec- tions and General Election is 5 p.m. on Friday, Febru- ary 27. Candidates can qualify at their county circuit clerk of- rices. The date for the primary election in Mississippi is Tuesday, August 4. The Mis- sissippi General Election will take place on Tuesday, November 3. As a service to readers, The Woodville Republican will publish a list of all can- didates qualified to run for all of the public offices in Wilkinson County in the Thursday, March 5, edition. For candidates wishing to keep their name in The Woodville Republican each week, they may pay a fee for this service rated on the office for which they have qualified. Included with the pay- ment of this fee candidates can issue a simple an- nouncement telling voters that they have qualified for election This announce- ment will appear on Page 1 of this newspaper. At a later date the candidate can sub- mit their formal statement to the voters listing their qualifications, what they hope to accomplish, etc. The formal statement is limited to 300 words or less. If the statement exceeds the 300 word limit, there will be a charge of 5 for every word over this limit. This formal statement will also appear on Page 1 of this paper. Pho- tos may be included with the simple statement or with the formal statement at a cost of $15 if the photo is provided by the candi- date or $25 if taken by this newspaper.
