Students Take Field Trip To Louisiana State Prison MI,K STUDENTS EXPERIENCE INMATE LIFE AT MAJOR PRISON On Thursday, January 15, MLK Career and Technology Complex students took a field trip to the Louisiana State Penitentiary and Museum. This trip allowed students an opportunity to participate in a tour, make souvenir par- chases at the museum, eat lunch and listen to an inmate presentation about life at the nation's largest maximum se- curity prison -- the Louisiana State Prison at Angola. The students were hosted by one of the employees, Mr. Merriet Thomas, who showed tremendous hospitality with an excellent tour around the Angola premises. In addition, students were engaged in an inspiring church oriented skit with two inmates held in the fellowship hall where they asked questions about the life stories of inmates making pre- sentations. After lunch and presenta- tions, students were also al- lowed to feed salt rocks to Wilkinson County High School Announces First Semester Academic Honor Scholars Wilkinson County High School recently released the names of students who have received academic honors for the first nine week grading period. Frank Sullivan, pastor How "Bout" Those Bad Bodacious WILDCATS "Wildcats" "Wildcats" '%Vildcats" My name is Dr. Annette M. Dillon Underwood, AKA lb-s. McCoy, Dr. Dillon and. Dr. Underwood. It is my plea- sure to proclaim to some but reclaim those Bad Bodacious Wildcats. You have been in my heart since I served as Asst/Interim Principal, Cur- riculum Director, and finally as Teacher. Nevertheless, be- cause you are in my heart, I find it impossible to let go. In fact as I saw you graduate with siblings and children coming along, I kept learn- ing more and more about you, which is all good. My Doctoral Dissertation was done in celebration of you which was entitled: "What is the correlation between the Graduation Exam and Stu- dent Success in the Wilkin- son County School District?" Finding: When you score well in Reading Comprehen- sion and Writing, there is an excellent chance of gradu- ating AND excelling in the Secondary Arena. In today's world, a high school diploma has slipped in the ranks because of techno- logical advances, complicated mechanisms, and value sys- tems. YOU CAN WIN! You MUST for posterity sake! A good man leaves an inheri- tance to his grandchildren! Proverb 13:22. When you leave for secondary school, you must be equipped and find your place in a bigger spectrum lemming additional skills; then returning to build our "Beautiful County with so many Beautiful People!" We are second to none! I am duly qualified to close the gaps. YOU MUST BE COMPETITIVE! YOU MUST HAVE CONFI- DENCE! WHEN YOU'VE ACHIEVED YOUR CALS, IWE WON! Please vote "The Winning Circle" on August 4. THANKS! Paid Advertisement. Approved by Candidate.
